City of Lions: A Vignette

In my second solo exhibition, “City of Lions,“ I wanted to tell a story of Lviv, a city bordering Poland in West Ukraine. I had the honor of living in Ukraine in the end of 2020 and prior to the invasion of Russian forces. I believe the theme of this show was one of preservation. I sought to depict this place as a thank you for welcoming me as an artist and creative for several months so that I could properly absorb one of the most beautiful cultures I’ve ever known.

This show ran from January to April at the Orem Public Library, which hold two magnificent stained glass windows created by my late Grandfather, Ralph Barksdale. I chose this venue to honor and thank him for instilling a love of art in me.
